Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO)

Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) is a life-support technique that provides cardiac and respiratory support by removing blood from the body, oxygenating it outside the body, and then returning it, effectively taking over the function of the heart and/or lungs.
